It's the holiday season and if you're having overnight house guests, you have an opportunity to make them feel extra special with a welcome basket.
A welcome basket is a collection of items that are a mix between things they need and things that are nice gestures, all gathered together in a basket you can leave in their room to find when they arrive.
Why not spoil them and show how much you love having them stay?
If they're friends or family I'm sure they'd feel comfortable enough to ask for what they need (like the wifi password), but why not have things ready that'll cover their basic needs – and even go a few steps further – to make their stay even more comfortable?
Here are a few ideas for items you could leave in their guest room:
WIRE BASKET
Have a couple baskets on hand you can use to gather the items you'd like to leave for your guests. Whether it's a wire basket or one with fabric inside, choose one that will last.
LIQUID IV HYDRATION MULTIPLIER & IMMUNE SUPPORT
Traveling makes all of us a little dehydrated and Liquid IV is the perfect antidote. Add a couple of these sticks in different flavors to your guest basket with bottles of water.
EPSOM SALT SOAKING SOLUTION
Epsom salts will encourage your guest to relax and do something for themselves they might not normally do at home. I like the Dr. Teals Soothe & Sleep in Lavender.
HEATING PAD
I love a good heating pad, whether it's to relax, soothe achy muscles or warm up. This is something that guest wouldn't expect, but I guarantee they'll use.
WIFI SIGN CHALKBOARD
Keep guests from having to ask and have the information ready for them on a wifi sign chalkboard.
POPCORN & EASY SNACKS
Have a few snacks like popcorn or trail mix so they can munch when they get a little hungry.
CHOCOLATE
Sometimes we just need a little indulgence with something sweet, like chocolate.
READING MATERIAL
Whether it's coffee table books about your area, magazines or a local paper it's nice to have something to flip through.
MAKEUP REMOVER TOWELS
Take care of your female friends by sticking a couple makeup remover towels in the basket. These microfiber reusable towels work like magic.
FACE MASKS & EYE MASKS
Give your guests a way to pamper themselves with things like face masks and eye masks. If you're not sure which one to choose, go with something hydrating.
Do you have any other good ideas to include? If you've put together a welcome basket for your guests, did they enjoy it? What were their favorite things? Let me know.
